Course Description:

Malone Golf Club is set on gently rolling parkland, which when played in summertime the tapestry of the mature trees, blaze of flowers and tranquillity of the 25 acre lake sets it quite apart from any other inland course in the country. Located on 275 acres with the lake stocked regularly with trout to satisfy the needs of the fishing club’s members. The original design did not incorporate the magnificent lake, however this was quickly rectified and the lake now comes into play on the 13th the back of the 14th and is all carry on the short 15th it also welcomes the dreaded slice off the 18th. Besides the lake, the River Lagan comes into play on the dogleg 7th a 455 yard Par-4 index 1.

Malone Golf Club has a magnificent old stone clubhouse building, which dates back to 1835, where the golfers every need is catered for after a memorable round of golf.Voted the No. 36-ranked golf course in Ireland, by “Golf Digest Ireland” in 2008. Malone was voted No. 13 Parkland/Inland Course in Ireland by "Backspin" Irelands leading Golf magazine in 2008, the panel comprised of a selection of 52 Professional and amateur golfers throughout Ireland.

The Rev. R. W. Seavers B. D. Rector of St. John’s church, was in the chair. It was unanimously resolved that such a club should be forthwith established and that its designation be "Malone Golf Club", membership of which should be open to ladies and gentlemen.

Chapman.By 1896, the club had 450 members and the entry fee was two guineas and an annual subscription of two guineas. In 1919, the club moved to the Harberton Estate, which was an eighteen-hole course.
