| Course Description: |
Kilrea Golf Club is an 9 hole parkland founded in 1919 and measuring
only 4,416 yards with a par of 62 and a standard scratch to match off the men's
tees. The ladies, is also a par 62 but with an easier standard scratch of 63.
The course is built on gravel hills and surrounded by bog-land,
making Kilrea playable all year round, although one of the shortest courses
you will play today where every golf course is striving to add additional yardage
to counteract the advantages of modern equipment, here is a idea for all of
you + and scratch golfers, why not visit Kilrea and have a go at setting a new
course record which presently stands at 61. Given the right conditions for you
guys it should be possible to shoot the sub 60!

| Club History |
Instituted 1919, affiliated 1920. A nine-hole course about half a mile from the station is recorded
in the "Golfer's Handbook " 1923. It would appear the club ceased
to be soon after that. The GUI records lists an application for re-affiliation
from the club on 28th February, 1953.
