Course Description:

Set on 176 acres and designed by Ryder Cup player Des Smyth and Declan Brannigan on what once was Ballykisteen Stud Farm before Noel and Josephine Ryan bought it for £530,000 in 1991. By 1993 30,000 trees were planted and all works were carried out to the highest of standards, characterised cut-stone wall behind the water protecting the 335 yards 8th green and the attractive bridge short of the first green. Other features are the burn about 80 yards short of the 18th and a stream that meanders across the centre of the course.

Having bought the stud farm and decided to construct a golf course in this beautiful location, in spectacular rolling terrain, in the heart of the Golden Vale only half an hour from the Glen of Aherlow and in the back drop of the Galtee Mountains. Josephine Ryan is quoted as saying. "I’m not daft, but this is the daftest thing I have ever done in my life," how wrong she was. Ballykisteen has developed into one of Ireland’s premier proprietary Golf Clubs with over 300 members.

Visitors to Ballykisteen are assured of a warm and friendly welcome and a challenging game of golf.
