Course Description
.
Balmoral Golf Club will always be associated with the late Fred Daly, the only Irish man to win a Major, when he returned a score of 293 at Hoylake in 1947 to lift the most cherished prize in golf "The Claret Jug".

At the time of writing Fred is the only Irish man to win a Major but I'm predicting that either Padraig Harrington or Darren Clarke will follow in his footsteps in the near future.

Balmoral is a mature Parkland course, which befits a course that has been in existence since 1914, with undulating and tree lined fairways, heavily bunkered and a meandering stream coming into play on holes 10 through 15.

The course is superbly maintained and is a must for golfers visiting Belfast, the course is located only a medium iron from the historic Kings Hall. The visitor is assured of a warm welcome but it is imperative to phone in advance to ensure a tee time and please remember if you wish to dine in the evening a jacket and tie is required.
