Course Description
.
This 9-hole links/parkland situated in the far North of Co. Antrim only about a mile from the world famous Giants Causeway, is a must to visit when in this area. The course has been in existence since 1890 at least. It is a traditional Links/parkland where the golfer can savour the magnificent views of Causeway Coast and on a clear day the West Coast of Scotland is in view.

The course is built on the banks of the River Bush giving rise to something that is seldom found on Links courses with water coming into play on four of the 9 holes, on the 1st 3rd 4th and 5th. Although only a 9-hole Links/parkland Bushfoot has 15 different tee boxes making the back nine a totally different challenge of golf. The 10th at 458 yards is as good a par 4 you will find anywhere. Visitors to Bushfoot Golf Club are always extended the warmest of Ulster welcomes, the clubhouse is warm and the catering is excellent.

Club History
.

Instituted 1893 affiliated 1906 There is some confusion as to when golf was first played at Bushfoot. It is first listed in The Golfing Annual, 1894-95. The Golfing Union of Ireland gives mention of it in the minutes, 26th July 1895. The Hon. Secretary was H. Steen, Bushmills. The Golfing Annual, 1898-99, gives its foundation date as 1893 and states, "The course of nine-holes is about a mile from The Giants Causeway". The confusion arises when The Irish Golfers Guide, 1910, gives 1890 as the year of institution. It goes on to say "in summer, the electric tram stops and lifts passengers every hour at the clubhouse"

Bushfoot Golf Club won the North Antrim Shield in 1994, when the team was, Brian Sweeney, Trevor Thompson, Ian Hemphill, Trevor Steele, IanThompson, Paddy Quigg, Ian Thompson, Roy Carmac, Greg Taylor, Clifford Bailey and John Torrens, they were captained by Richard Conkey.
