Course Description:

St. Patrick's Golf Links must be the best kept secret in Irish golf even I hadn't visited it until May Day 2003. Set amidst Donegal's most breathtaking scenery, in the sandy hills overlooking Sheep Haven Bay, St. Patrick's Golf Links Magheramagorgan is a developing 36 hole links offering a challenge to all golfers. The 36 holes currently in play and already the combination of the late Eddie Hackett's design and the natural golfing terrain has resulted in the course being praised for its originality. On my visit to St. Patrick's Links Dermot Walsh showed us around and although the weather was foul one could not but be taken in by the magnificent scenery and the sheer natural terrain of these Links. Dermot reliably informed me that the late Eddie Hackett spent his last day on a golf course at the 16th now called after the great course architect to whom we all owe a deep gratitude.

He also informed me that the new clubhouse has been designed and that construction would commence in the not too distanced future. Work has been on going for the past 10 years and when it has been completed I have no doubts that St. Patrick's Links will be on every golfers schedule who savour playing links golf, I know I am looking forward to returning and playing these awe inspiring natural pair of golf links. Keen golfers are invited to rise to the challenge of the "Googly" 4th and the "Scallop" 16th which will test the best of golfers. Holiday golfers are invited to witness for themselves the spectacular views from the peaceful and soothing environs of Magheramagorgan.
