Course Description:

Originally a 9 hole Parkland course, Downpatrick upgraded to an 18 hole Championship Golf Course in the 1990's. Martin Hawtree undertook the design of this course that has been in existences since 1930. Course now measures 6,120 yards with a Par of 70 and standard scratch of 69 off the white stakes. The ladies course is slightly shorter at 5,438 with a Par 72 and an SSS to match. Downpatrick's signature hole is the 5th playing all of 457 yards requiring a long to medium iron for your second shot, over club here and you are in the water to the back of the green. Water comes into play again ton the 155 yard 8th and 337 yards 9th.

With undulating fairways, strategically located bunkers and quick but true greens all combine to make Downpatrick a challenging but fair course for golfers of all abilities. The course has spectacular views of Strangford Lough, the Isle-of-Man on a clear day and the surrounding lands of majestic Co. Down. The visitor is always extended a warm Ulster hand of welcome and the facilities are next to none.
