Course Description:

Corrstown Golf Club has achieved in its short history a success envied by new and old clubs alike. The Club boasts two courses: the championship 18-hole Par 72 6,298 m with a standard scratch of 72 off the blue tees, known as the "River Course", complete with fairways mounds, burns, lakes and water hazards, and the all weather greens are to be amongst the best in Ireland. The 9-hole "Orchard Course" is set amidst thousands of mature trees, offering a peaceful game of golf in a challenging, yet relaxed environment. Both courses were designed by Eddie Connaughton and clearly reflect the mind of an accomplished golfer in tune with nature. The signature hole at Corrstown is without doubt the 18th hole, a demanding 382 m Par 4 index 3 with a daunting approach to a full island green. The modern Clubhouse operates with a very open and relaxed atmosphere, which is thoroughly enjoyed by members and visitors alike. The Club’s Bar and Restaurant have an excellent reputation for the cuisine, beer and wine, which is served daily. Visitors are always welcomed at Corrstown and groups and societies are also catered for. Societies are welcome and group rates are available.

Lady Captain Jean Cooke and her Captain's Prize winner Ruth Maguire took the final qualifying spot in the Volkswagen-Irish Independent Lady Captain's Golf Classic in August 2001. Playing the Slieve Russell shortly after the North West of Ireland Open, everybody found the course playing tough. Jean playing off 26 and Ruth playing off 16 returned 27 points, which was enough to book their place in the National Finals at Druid's Glen on the 1st of October.

Congratulations to Ruth Maguire (17) and Patrick Comerford (6) who finished 3rd in the Grand Final of the Spar-Irish Independent Mixed Pairs at Golf del Sur, Tenerife, in November 2000, with rounds of 46 in the scramble, 31 in the foursomes and 67 in the singles. This is an unique tournament with the first six holes played as a scramble, the next six as foursomes and the last six as singles, in the National rounds. The same format is retained for the Grand Finals over three rounds.

Paul Carey, played Leinster Boys in 1998 and 1999.

Corrstown have won the McDonnell Cup on four consecutive years, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. This is an achievement no other club has equalled.
