Course Description:

Bright Castle Golf Club was founded in 1979 and designed by its owner Arnold Ennis Snr. It is an 18-hole Parkland measuring 7,143 yards with a Par 74 and a standard scratch of 73 off the blue stakes. Its length makes it one of the longest Parkland courses in the country. Up to recently Bright Castle had its 16th hole playing as a Par 6 measuring 735 yards making it the longest golf hole in Europe.

Its length and degree of difficulty off the back stakes has attracted some if not all of Irelands finest golfers to visit Bright Castle from time to time. However the course is designed to facilitate your average golfer and particular attention is given to the society player to ensure he or she enjoys their day's golf.

The clubhouse has everything the modern golfer could wish for and on my last visit here I had the pleasure of spending some time chatting to Arnold who sure knows his golf. A warm welcoming hand of Ulster is extended to all who visit this most picturesque part of Co. Down.

The course can be difficult to find so allow a bit of time to locate it if you are not familiar with the area.
